AiQing says: “Hong Kong is a short flight away, it takes just 4 hours and making arrangements to get there is so easy with so many flights going daily. And of course it’s a place with loads of yummy and interesting food on offer. PLUS it’s easy to get about on public transport.
Word of warning though. It’s hard to bargain with many street hawkers who only speak Cantonese. So don’t expect to get too many foodie bargains!

We stayed at the Royal Plaza and booked directly with the hotel. We were given lounge access and had a room on the highest level. We would certainly recommend it. Advice. Don’t book your accommodation with breakfast included. There are so many small, interesting eateries around the hotel area to choose from and much cheaper than the hotel breakfast too.”

Getting about:

MTR cards - for more savings buy an MTR Tourist Pass or invest in an Octopus Card (a regular travel pass, can be bought at 7/11)

Adult Tourist Day Pass is HKD 65; Child is HKD 30, for unlimited travel.

Single Journey Trip from Causeway Bay to Kowloon Tong = HKD 27.

Check out the tourist day pass here.  And more tourist travel deals here.

Also use the Airport Express for entering the city from the airport and enjoy group savings when 4 people travel together. Check out the tourist promotion deals here.
