Hong Kong on a budget. Singaporeans share their insider tips.
Meet Lim AiQing. She’s our five-star Customer Care Exec who gets consistently good reviews from our customers.
When she’s not busy answering insurance queries, she loves to travel.
Here she shares her holiday snaps and some travel tips following her trip to Hong Kong.
AiQing says: “Hong Kong is a short flight away, it takes just 4 hours and making arrangements to get there is so easy with so many flights going daily. And of course it’s a place with loads of yummy and interesting food on offer. PLUS it’s easy to get about on public transport.
Word of warning though. It’s hard to bargain with many street hawkers who only speak Cantonese. So don’t expect to get too many foodie bargains!
We stayed at the Royal Plaza and booked directly with the hotel. We were given lounge access and had a room on the highest level. We would certainly recommend it. Advice. Don’t book your accommodation with breakfast included. There are so many small, interesting eateries around the hotel area to choose from and much cheaper than the hotel breakfast too.”
Getting about:MTR cards - for more savings buy an MTR Tourist Pass or invest in an Octopus Card (a regular travel pass, can be bought at 7/11)
