Budget Direct Travel Insurance Claims – Frequently Asked Questions
Does my travel insurance policy cover me if I unexpectedly encounter an injury, illness, or require hospitalization while abroad?
Absolutely, we provide travel insurance coverage for reasonable expenses incurred by you for emergency medical or surgical treatment, hospital fees, and ambulance services as deemed necessary by a medical practitioner to treat you while you're overseas. This travel insurance coverage extends for up to 60 days from the date of your initial treatment or until the limit indicated on your Policy Summary is reached, whichever comes first.
Moreover, we also cover reasonable expenses for specialist medical treatment, but only if such treatment is deemed necessary by a medical practitioner and has been recommended by a medical practitioner (excluding dental treatment).
Does travel insurance cover high-value personal items like personal computers, laptops, video recorders, and cameras?
Yes, we offer coverage for personal items, including those of high value. To determine the specific limits applicable to your level of travel insurance coverage, please refer to the table of benefits in the Travel Insurance Product Disclosure Document, found on page 22.
What happens if I fall seriously ill or get injured during my trip and can't continue am I covered?
In the event that a serious illness or injury prevents you from continuing your travel and you need to cut your trip short, our travel insurance has you covered. We will reimburse you for the transport expenses, whether it's air, sea, or land travel, as well as any accommodation costs you've already paid for or committed to under a contract and can't recover. This includes coverage for the travel agent's cancellation fee.
