Here is the complete list of Car Authorised Workshops, Windscreen Repairers and Accident Reporting Centres for our Car Insurance policies.
If you do not have the “Any Workshop” optional cover, this means that all accident reporting and repairs should be carried out at one of our Authorised Workshops if you are claiming under your policy. This is part of our standard insurance policy.
All repairs carried out at our Authorised Workshops are guaranteed against defects of repairs for 12 months.
You can choose which workshop to go to so long as it is on our list of Authorised Workshops.
If you have the ‘Any Workshop’ optional cover in your policy, you may choose which workshop you wish to go to for repairs.
However, please keep in mind that you would still have to report your accident at any of our Authorised Workshops or Accident Reporting Centres (ARCs) listed below before repairing your vehicle at your own preferred workshop.
Remember, you do not always have to take up the ‘Any Workshop’ optional cover if your car is still under warranty. Do check the warranty provided by your car dealer. Most car dealers no longer impose restrictions threatening to void a warranty if a vehicle is serviced or repaired at an independent workshop.
For more details, please see our FAQ on the ‘Any Workshop’ optional cover.
An authorised repairer or authorised workshop is the garage appointed by your insurer for all your motor repair needs. At Budget Direct Insurance we shortlist our authorised workshops based on their workmanship, such as tools, computer systems and essential equipment available. This is to ensure that these workshops can deliver a prompt and reliable service to our customers. All repairs done at our authorised garages are guaranteed for 12 months. This guarantee applies to all affected/changed parts related to the accident repair. To make it more convenient for our customers, we select authorised workshops that are strategically located all over Singapore.
Yes, for an additional fee you can choose to use your own favourite workshop for accident repairs. Simply select the "any workshop" option when you get a quote with us. Then you can have your car repaired at any workshop of your choice, it’s that simple. If you have selected your own repairer, you have the option to report your accident at one of our authorised workshops or accident reporting centres before repairing your vehicle at your own preferred garage.
The time it takes to repair a car depends on many factors. The repair workshop will need to take several things into consideration including issues such as the extent of the damage and the parts needed which may have to be ordered from overseas, especially if the car is a rare model in Singapore. Workshops would also have to factor in other issues such as the shipping of supplies which could be delayed due to unforeseen events like COVID-19. For general minor damage, however, we would expect the repair workshop to complete the job within approximately 3-5 working days.
If you have selected the optional extra benefit ‘’any workshop’’ when purchasing your car insurance policy then yes, you can choose who repairs your car after an accident. Otherwise, you will use the authorised workshops as selected by your insurance company.
If your car is accidentally damaged, you can request to receive cash in-lieu of repairs. Many factors need to be considered, however, for such a request to be granted. We may, at our discretion, pay cash up to the Market Value of your car to cover your loss or the damage to your car at the time of loss or damage.
