Budget Direct Comprehensive car insurance protects you against loss or damage to your electric car, as well as liability for accidental damage your car causes to other people's vehicles and property.

Yes, if your EV battery is damaged as a result of an accident, it is covered. However, we do not cover damage due to general wear and tear, abuse, corrosion, rust or depreciation of the EV battery.
We do not cover incidents where you simply run out of battery charge. If this happens, your vehicle will need to be towed to the nearest EV charging station at your own cost. Always ensure your vehicle is charged enough to complete your journey.
Yes, as long as the damage to the EV charging station is accidentally caused by your electric vehicle, it will be covered in accordance with your policy terms and conditions.
