Free and Cheap Parking in Singapore: The Ultimate List (2026 Updated)
Owning a car in Singapore is already one of life's most expensive commitments — COE, insurance, petrol, ERP. The last thing you want is to haemorrhage money every time you park. The good news? Free and cheap parking options still exist across the island, if you know where to look.
We've refreshed this guide with updated 2026 rates and added new spots that savvy Singapore drivers are already taking advantage of. We've grouped them into three categories to make it easy:
- Park and Chill — nature parks and recreational spaces with free parking
- Park and Shop — malls and commercial areas with free or cheap deals
- The Know-How — apps, tools and the HDB Free Parking Scheme
Here's a quick summary of the latest rates:
- Plaza Singapura evening rate: Current rate is $3.25/entry from 6pm on weekdays. [6][7]
- Atrium @ Orchard: Evening rate is $3.25/entry from 6pm. [20]
- ION Orchard: $3.05/entry on weekday evenings after 5pm. [12][13]
- Clarke Quay new promotion (till 30 June 2026): 3 hours free parking Mon–Thu, 6pm–9pm. Also 2 free lunchtime hours on weekdays, 12pm–1:59pm. [8][9][14]

- HDB Free Parking Scheme (FPS): Free parking 7am to 10:30pm on Sundays and Public Holidays at most HDB car parks. [4][5]
Part 1: Park and Chill — Free Parking at Parks & Leisure Spots

Part 2: Park and Shop — Free & Cheap Mall Parking
Shopping malls rarely offer outright free parking, but many provide conditional free parking with minimum spend, or cheap flat-rate entry fees during off-peak hours. Here's where to find the best deals in 2026.
Cheap Flat-Rate Evening Parking (Updated 2026 Rates)
Per-entry parking is your best friend for extended evening outings. Pay once, stay as long as you like — ideal if you're catching a movie, shopping, and having dinner.

Part 3: The Know-How — HDB Schemes, Apps & Smart Parking Tips
The HDB Free Parking Scheme (FPS)
The HDB Free Parking Scheme (FPS) is the single most underutilised parking perk in Singapore.[4][5]
- Free parking from 7am to 10:30pm on Sundays and Public Holidays at most HDB car parks islandwide. [4]
- Look for the orange sign plate at the car park entrance to identify FPS-enabled lots. [5]
- Not applicable to season parking reserved lots.[4]
- Some newer HDB estates may not be covered due to precinct-specific parking policies. [5]
- Use HDB's Centralised Map on the HDB website to find FPS-enabled car parks near you. [4]
If you're running errands, visiting family, or going for a walk near any HDB estate on a Sunday or Public Holiday — parking is free. Make full use of it.

Essential Parking Apps (2026)
Parking.sg
The official government parking app by LTA. Pay for short-term parking at coupon car parks by the minute, extend sessions remotely, get pre-expiry notifications, and receive refunds for unused time.[12]
OneMotoring (by LTA)
Search and compare car park rates across Singapore's commercial buildings, updated by LTA.[17]
CarparkWhere
Third-party app showing real-time lot availability alongside projected fees for HDB, URA, and mall car parks. Enter your planned duration to calculate the estimated cost before you drive in.[12]
CapitaStar App
Essential if you frequent CapitaLand malls (Clarke Quay, Plaza Singapura, etc.). Free parking eVouchers are credited directly to your account after qualifying spend validation.[8]
Other Smart Parking Hacks for Singapore Drivers
- HDB season parking near work: Costs $80–$110/month — far cheaper than commercial car park rates that can hit $400–$500/month. [16]
- Evening entry strategy: Most Orchard Road malls switch to flat per-entry fees after 5–6pm. For visits of 2+ hours, this saves significantly over hourly rates. [12][13]
- University car parks: NUS, NTU and the polytechnics often offer free parking evenings and weekends. [13]
- ITE campuses: ITE College Central and ITE College East allow public access. Free parking on Sundays and Public Holidays under the HDB FPS. [9]
- Arrive early at parks: Popular car parks like Sungei Buloh fill up quickly on school holidays and long weekends. Aim to arrive before 9am. [15]
