What is MyInfo?

MyInfo is a Singapore government service authenticated through SingPass that enables citizens and residents to manage the use of their personal data for simpler online transactions. MyInfo users will enjoy less form-filling and a reduced need for providing verifying documentation during online transactions. Users can view their own personal data profile.

What are the benefits of MyInfo?

Am I required to register for MyInfo?

No registration is required for MyInfo if you are a SingPass user.

What information is Budget Direct Insurance collecting using MyInfo?

We can only request personal data that is relevant to process your transaction. Consent from you will always be sought before any personal data is retrieved. For the purpose of providing you with a car insurance quote, the following information (if in your MyInfo profile) will be pulled from MyInfo onto your car insurance quote form once you have given your consent:

  • Personal details – Name, NRIC, email, Gender, Date of Birth, Mobile number, Marital Status, Occupation and Registered Address

  • Vehicle ownership information – Vehicle Number, Vehicle Type, Vehicle Make and Model, Vehicle Year of Registration, etc.

  • Driving License information.

My government-verified information is incorrect. What should I do?

Government-verified fields in our quote form contain information that has been reasonably verified by the relevant government agency. Should any information be incorrect, please contact the relevant government agency to update the respective government-verified fields, indicated by the tooltip icon on the right.

Please note that it will normally take 1-3 working days for your MyInfo profile to reflect the updated data after verification by the relevant agency.

Kindly remember that you are responsible for validating all fields throughout the quotation process, including pre-filled details from MyInfo. My vehicle ownership data in my MyInfo profile is incorrect. How do I update it?

The vehicle ownership data in MyInfo was obtained based on records that had been reasonably verified by the relevant government agency. Should there be any discrepancies, please contact the Land Transport Authority (LTA) via email at [email protected]

Why are some of the fields retrieved from MyInfo non-editable?

Some of your personal data fields have been validated by participating government agencies. As any changes would have to be re-validated by these agencies, some of these fields have been made non-editable. You are responsible for ensuring the information in all fields in the quote form is correct throughout the quotation process, including pre-filled details. If you find any inaccuracies in your information, please contact us at 6221 2111. Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 8pm and Saturdays, 9am to 3pm (excluding public holidays).

What do you do with all that information retrieved from MyInfo?

We use the data retrieved from MyInfo with your consent in order to provide you with our best quote for car insurance. Our system will validate whether you have existing records in our database. If so, we will use the following information from our records for your quote:

  1. First Name, Last Name

  2. Date of Birth

  3. ID number

  4. Mobile Number

  5. Email Address

  6. Marital Status

All other pre-filled information will be retrieved from MyInfo, so please ensure these are accurate to give you the protection you need.

After my data is shared for the purposes of a digital service transaction, will you have access to all my MyInfo profile personal data?

With your consent, we will only retrieve data relevant to the required data fields as specified in our online car insurance quote form for providing you with our best quote. No additional information will be shared with us without your consent.

Will my personal data be compromised?

MyInfo data is safeguarded by cybersecurity industry best practices implemented by the government, like end-to-end encryption and multi-layered security. Moreover, you are the sole person who can give consent for the use of data in MyInfo. Your data can only be retrieved after having you first authenticate your identity by logging into SingPass and giving consent for the required data to be shared with us for the purpose of processing your car insurance quote.

Can I delete my MyInfo profile?

MyInfo serves as the profile of your National Digital Identity. All SingPass users will have a MyInfo profile. As such, you cannot delete it.

If you do not wish to use your MyInfo profile to fill out our car insurance quote form, you may choose to key in the required data manually using our online form at www.budgetdirect.com.sg.

Why can’t I get a travel quote using MyInfo?

You’ll be pleased to hear that we are working with MyInfo to include motorcycle insurance and travel insurance quotes as well. We will provide updates on our site when these avenues are ready for your use.

I’m an existing customer of Budget Direct Insurance. Can I use MyInfo to get a car insurance quote?

If you are an existing customer looking to get a new car insurance policy, you can use MyInfo to get a quote.

If you are an existing customer renewing your car insurance policy with us, please log in to your account and select View Renewal Proposal. Your Renewal Proposal will be ready for you 45 days before your current policy’s expiry date.

Why do I have problems using MyInfo?

If you encounter problems using MyInfo, please check that you have keyed in the correct SingPass ID and password. If you are still unable to log in, your MyInfo profile may have been inactivated due to security and data privacy concerns. You can reach MyInfo Helpdesk for any issues relating to MyInfo at +65 6643 0567, from 8am to 8pm Mondays to Fridays and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays (excluding Sundays and Public Holidays).
